The 2 day Colca Canyon Tour – Cañon de Colca in Spanish – offers travellers the opportunity to get up close and personal to countryside life in Peru, spot soaring Andean condors, bathe in secret thermal baths, uncover jaw-dropping vistas, stay in an oasis, and hike along dusty roads into the depths of one of the world’s deepest canyons
Pick up at at 7:30 AM, the tour guide will meet you in your Arequipa hotel and then we will start our private or shared guided tour of the Colca Canyon. The second deepest canyon in the world!
Along the way we will arrive to the 4,200m where the Pampa Cañahuas Natural Reserve is located. Here we will watch vicugnas, lamas and alpagas. We will arrive to Patahuasi for drinking a coca tea.
We arrive to the highest point Patapampa, located at 4,800m, natural viewpoint where we will see the mountain range. At 1pm we will arrive to Chivay town, located at 3,600m. Lunch in Chivay and accommodation. In the afternoon visit to the hot springs La Calera, and return to Chivay.
We will meet the tour guide in the lobby of the hotel at 7PM for visiting the planetarium Maria Reiche, which is located at Casa Andina Hotel (Chivay).
You will learn how the ancient Colca Canyon inhabitants interpreted the night sky according to their myths. After this unique spectacle, we have a delectable dinner with a folk show, and then return to the hotel to spend the night.

We begin our second day with an early wake up at 5:30AM, after breakfast we begin our departure to the famous Cruz del Condor to watch the flight of the majestic Condors. On the way back to Chivay we will visit the different natural viewpoints and the Yanque and Maca towns. Next we arrive to Chivay for lunch, and then return to Arequipa. You can expect arrival to Arequipa at 5PM, where you will be transfered back to the hotel.
We will pick you up from the hotel in Chivay at 1PM for having lunch with the tour group and do hiking in the afternoon (optional). Then we will visit “La Calera” hot springs and dinner with the folk show.
Pick up from the hotel in Puno from 6 to 6:20AM and departure to Chivay town.
Along the way we will stop in Lagunillas for taking pictures of the birds and in the National reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca for watching vicuñas and alpacas. Before arriving to Chivay we will stop in Patapampa pass located at 4,910m from where we will watch the mountain range.
Arrive to Chivay and transfer to the hotel in Chivay. In the afternoon you will have lunch with the tour group and visit the hot springs.
