The 2 day Colca Canyon Tour – Cañon de Colca in Spanish – offers travellers the opportunity to get up close and personal to countryside life in Peru, spot soaring Andean condors, bathe in secret thermal baths, uncover jaw-dropping vistas, stay in an oasis and hike along dusty roads into the depths of one of the world’s deepest canyons
Pick up at 7:30 AM, the tour guide will meet you in your Arequipa hotel and then we will start our tour of the Colca Canyon. The second deepest canyon in the world!
Arrive at 4,200m where the Pampa Cañahuas Natural Reserve is located. watch vicunas, llamas and alpacas. We will arrive at Patahuasi for drinking a coca tea.
Arrive at the highest point Patapampa, located at 4,800m, natural viewpoint where we will see the mountain range. At 1pm arrive at Chivay town, located at 3,600m. Lunch in Chivay and accommodation. In the afternoon visit to the hot springs La Calera, before returning to Chivay.
The tour guide in the lobby of the hotel at 7PM for visiting the planetarium Maria Reiche, which is located at Casa Andina Hotel (Chivay).
Learn how the ancient Colca Canyon inhabitants interpreted the night sky according to their myths. After this unique spectacle, we have a delectable dinner with a folk show, return to the hotel to spend the night.

We begin our second day with an early wake up at 5:30AM, after breakfast begin our departure to the famous Cruz del Condor to watch the flight of the majestic Condors. On the way back to Chivay we will visit the different natural viewpoints and the towns of Yanque and Maca. Next arrive to Chivay for lunch, then return to Arequipa. Expect arrival to Arequipa at 5PM, where you will be transfered back to the hotel.

An experience of a lifetime and much of this reason was because our tour guide Jhony who is incredibly knowledgeable, personable, kind, and has a great sense of humor. There were times on the trail where I struggled and went super slow and he really helped me push through in a non-pressuring way. He was honest about conditions and provided us with plenty of interesting information. Making it to Machu Picchu was so worth it. Only two others besides my boyfriend and I so it was really intimate experience . Transportation, food, facilities, all was perfect. The nature was indescribably magical. You have to see it to understand. Book this tour!
