Begin today with an early pick up at your hotel 4am. Travel through the scenic South Valley, have time to rest or even sleep on the 3 hour drive to the start of the hike to Rainbow Mountain.
Arrive at the trailhead in Japura and eat a delicious and filling breakfast. Later drive your ATV for an hour to Qosqopata. Pass beautiful terrain and see Ausangate Mountain and its magnificent glaciers. Take the opportunity to engage with the local community and learn about their culture. Ask the guide about their clothing, traditions and why the men wear their hats. The guide may even teach you a few words in Quechua.
After a brief 30-minute hike, we arrive at our destination: the breathtaking Rainbow Mountain! Standing tall at 5,200m/17,060ft, this natural wonder will leave you in awe. Take your time to explore the area, capturing memorable photos or simply savoring the panoramic view. We recommend the short hike up the neighboring mount to get a better view and angle of the striking colors. Spend approximately 30 minutes at the summit, allowing you to fully appreciate the beauty that surrounds you.
As we make our way back to Qosqopata, we will hop back on our ATVs for another thrilling ride. From there, we will return to Japura for a well-deserved lunch. Finally, we hop back in the van and embark on the 3-hour journey back to Cusco, where we will drop you off at your hotel, arriving around 5:00 pm.

An experience of a lifetime and much of this reason was because our tour guide Jhony who is incredibly knowledgeable, personable, kind, and has a great sense of humor. There were times on the trail where I struggled and went super slow and he really helped me push through in a non-pressuring way. He was honest about conditions and provided us with plenty of interesting information. Making it to Machu Picchu was so worth it. Only two others besides my boyfriend and I so it was really intimate experience . Transportation, food, facilities, all was perfect. The nature was indescribably magical. You have to see it to understand. Book this tour!
