If you want to book the Classic Inca Trail (4 or 5 days), it is essential to do so as early as possible to secure your preferred date. Depending on the month you plan to trek, you may need to book 6 months or more in advance. Permits for the 2025 season are now available for purchase, and many dates sell out within minutes.

We do our best to secure permits for your preferred date. In fact, we successfully obtain the preferred dates for 98% of our clients. However, we highly recommend that you provide at least two alternative dates, in case we are unable to secure permits for your preferred date. This ensures we can still get permits for you, so you can experience the Inca Trail.
If you plan to renew or change your name on your passport between booking your trek and starting it, you can book using your current passport number or name. However, you must send us a copy of your old passport and a copy of your new passport as soon as you receive it. We will then process the change with the government before your arrival. The additional cost for this change is US$25 per person, which covers the update for your Inca Trail permit, Machu Picchu entrance, and train ticket.
If you do not notify us about the change or prefer not to pay the fee, you must bring both your old and new passports with you. You can enter Peru with your new passport, but you must present the old passport to government authorities to access the Inca Trail, Machu Picchu, or train. If you cannot provide both, you will not be allowed to start your trek. All names and numbers must match.
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your entry date into Peru.
If you book your trek at the student price, you must send us a copy of your valid university card when paying the trek deposit. If you fail to present your original university card on the trek, government authorities will not allow you to start the trek. The government does not allow you to pay the difference in price on-site.
If your preferred date is sold out, there are no more permits available for any travel agency. We only require the availability for your trek’s start date.
February: During this month, the Inca Trail (2, 3, 4, 5, and 7 days) is closed for maintenance. During this period, we only operate the Lares Trek to Machu Picchu and other tours to Machu Picchu.
If permits for the Classic Inca Trail are sold out for your desired date, don’t worry! There are plenty of alternative treks that allow you to experience the beauty of the Andes on your way to Machu Picchu. These alternative routes are just as breathtaking as the Inca Trail but are less crowded, as we take you off the beaten path while ensuring you don’t miss out on anything during your adventure.
